This bodes well for an Apple TV App Store (Gizmodo points out that something similar was discovered before the iPhone got apps) but I’m a bit skeptical that the current Apple TV’s 8 GB of storage (which is used for Photo Stream, the OS and buffering) and 256 MB of memory is enough for a good app experience. The way wiggle mode is activated (by pressing and holding the middle button) is also a bit fishy; that action is currently the easiest way to make the Apple TV sleep or “turn off”.
Don’t buy an Apple TV with the expectation that you’ll soon be able to download apps for it.
